VAIO, the Japanese PC manufacturer from the 90s. Their laptops were not really good or special, but I always liked the logo. VAIO was originally short for Video Audio Integrated Operation. The concept for the logo was conceived by Teiyu Goto, the supervisor of the product who worked at Sony. He integrated various meanings into the logo. The 'VA' is drawn as a sine wave and the 'IO' as binary digits 1 and 0, the combination representing the merging of analog and digital signals. When you see it, it gives a smile. As far as I'm concerned, this is in the FedEX category.

VandejongIn 2008, a group of film lovers released a film pass. At Vandejong we came up with the concept Cineville (film city). Cineville brings the homely atmosphere to the cinema and uses the city as a metaphor. For example, film pass holders became "Cinephiles" and a world of possibilities opened up to safeguard the existence of independent film theaters. From Cineville film festivals to Cineville-Pub quizzes. When the concept, name and product nicely coincide, the logo must be simple and have character. I chose the font "Village Cassiopeia". Cassiopeia is a constellation, a constellation of millions of stars. As a reference to the films you discover in Cineville when the sun goes down.
