The Volksbühne logo in Berlin always fascinates me. A clumsy, almost childish drawing that cannot be broken. It comes in many shapes and designs, from marker drawing to a 3 cm thick steel plate, but it is always sturdy and recognizable. The logo is cheerful and dynamic, but it also has a dark, ominous appearance. The whole house style around it is also fantastic with the gothic typography and bright colors.

Het Echte WerkA few years ago we created this logo for WIRED, a culture festival for young people in Rotterdam. The simple form is a canvas where different worlds meet. Over the years, the logo has been used as a basic form for all kinds of expressions and has been processed and recreated with the help of young people with all conceivable techniques: aerosol cans, jigsaws, fluorescent boxes, knitting, etc. and it remains intact - recognizable and surprising.
