The logo of the band Black Flag is a personal favorite and all-time classic. The symbol for counter-movement for more than 30 years. No one explains it better than designer Raymond Pettibon himself: ‘It is a flag, you know, but it's four bars, and, it… it does suggest… you know ... waving… you know, in the wind… because, or like pistons, you know, going, or ... you know. Fuckin 'hell, I didn't go to design school or art school or any of that. Anyone, you know, to depict the name Black Flag, would, 90% of the motherfuckers ... would come up with the same scheme, you know …’

HOAXRead My World is a literature festival that offers a stage to writers and poets from regions in the world where freedom of expression cannot be taken for granted. These activist writers deal with censorship and often risk imprisonment or even their lives for writing their truth. We developed a typographic logo in which censored text can still be read. This results in a new visual language that we implemented in the rest of the visual identity. This intervention is a metaphor for the still voices, which, despite all the risks, will and must be heard after all.
